A new report shows the number of legal marijuana sales in Arizona has reached a record high of nearly 2,500 units.
The report, released Monday by the Arizona Attorney General’s Office, showed sales of marijuana products in Arizona reached $1.8 million on Tuesday.
That’s up from a record $1 million in the first half of the year.
It marks a 36 percent increase from the same period last year.
The increase in sales comes after a record 3,400 people were arrested in March.
The Arizona Department of Public Safety says it has arrested more than 4,700 people for marijuana possession in the state.
The department also says it is the only state in the country to see a significant increase in arrests.
It is not clear how many people were actually arrested for marijuana in the month of March.
