Posted February 05, 2018 08:23:50 In a world where lawsuits are a thing of the past, and you can take the internet to court for almost anything, there is a growing movement for more media organizations to be held to the same ethical standards.
One of the earliest and most well-known is the Center for Media Justice, which has since grown into the Media Freedom Law Center.
As a nonprofit, it has been around since 2012, and it’s still active.
The group’s founders are none other than the former head of the FBI, James Comey.
They believe that the rise of lawsuits has been a disaster for journalists, and have gone to great lengths to push back against those who claim they should be immune from liability in court.
